Untitled (it’s difficult to explain) 2011

25. Nov. 2011 — 09. Dec. 2011

An exhibition by Henrik Capetillo

Text by the artist in danish:

Statement

men somme tider afslører det som man hverken kan forudse eller planlægge;

Kongevej 37 1610 Kbh. V.

Udstillingen er støttet af Staten Kunstråd.

REG. NR.

21. Jan. 2011 — 19. Mar. 2011

"Reg. nr." – an exhibition  by TTC / Telefon Til Chefen

This year, Traneudstillingen has its 40-year anniversary. On this occasion, the artist group Telefon Til Chefen has been invited to create an exhibition that takes its point of departure in the impressive history of Traneudstillingen. The result is the exhibition “Reg. nr.” (Registration Number) that is on display from January 22nd 2011 to March 19th 2011.

“Reg. nr.” addresses the concept of collection, focusing on art works that several Danish libraries throughout time have made available to the general public - a tendency today in demise.

TTC has been granted access to the archives of Traneudstillingen as well as the art collections of several other libraries. Here, TTC has gotten not only inspiration but also concrete art works and objects that are now part of the exhibition, alongside new works of TTC. Together, the works create a dialogue that transcends generations and brings forth an echo of the 40-year history of Traneudstillingen.

The transition is now fluid; matter seems luminescent

02. Feb. 2010 — 25. Feb. 2010

28. Aug. 2009 — 16. Sep. 2009

The film ‘Shall We Dance?’ is an intriguing investigation of the word dance. It consists of a voice-over text and a collection of different visual narrations whose mutual arrangement seem to adapt to the spoken words. Combining the humoristic with a bone-dry seriousness, the film displays a sequence of peculiar snapshots, whose compositions and connotations reveal a choreography, in which the dancer is absent. Between documentary and fiction the film slides off the dance floor and asks a more universal question: “How Can We Know the Dancer from the Dance?” Yeats

‘Shall We Dance?’ is a collaborative project with the four Danish artists Soeren Aagaard, Magnus Clausen, Peter Larsen and Jörgen Michaelsen.

The exhibition is suported by the Danish Arts Council Committee for Visual Art.

A solo exhibtion by Piotr Lakomy

The young Polish artist Piotr Lakomy educated at "The Polish Institute of Fine Art' in Zielona Góra, has been called one of the most original young Polish painters today.

His works is based on a long tradition of painting that can be traced back to the early Polish avant-garde pioneers such as Henryk Stażewski, Wassily Kandinsky and Russian Casimir Malevich.

Piotr Lakomy works with painting, collage, sculpture and drawing, and it's especially what happens between these medias that interests him. Style wise there is a clear connection to the history of abstract art.

Hillbilly Heroin, Honey

26. Sep. 2008 — 25. Oct. 2008

Friday, september 26th the talented swedish photographer Hannah Modigh will present her poetic and melancholic photographs from the small poor mountain city St. Charles, Virginia. Trailerparks and poor white trash americans are the motives in this portrait of a piece of America, tucked away between misty mountains and magnificent scenery.

It is the sole and harsh destinies that are being processed in Hannah Modighs photographic works, but produced and visualized in a beautiful poetic imagery, the focus is on the essentials and intimate in the picture. As she says in an interview: "Lots of people take photos of everyday situation that show things as harsh and ugly. I’d rather go to a place that is rough and try to find the beauty in the people. And I also believe that it's easier to embrace the content if the picture looks beautiful. I don’t like shoving a message in people’s faces."
